Ag Days

What fun! In April, our county has "AG Days." This is where local farmers and pet breeders come to show us all about animals, growing food, spinning wool, sheering sheep and more. We have made it a tradition to go every year. This year we took it as a field trip with just mommy... we missed Daddy.
The kids loved learning about how to extract honey, what is made of soy and especially, how to spin wool into yarn.
We then walked over to the animal area and enjoyed many barn animals.
T got a kick out of the calf. He was a bit timid, but loved it when the calf came closer and sucked his fingers a bit.
C got the hang of milking pretty quick. IT was pretty cool to be able to milk a cow... especially one lying down! The owners were there teaching us how, so that helpped them feel a bit more at ease.
A loved milking the cow and came back several times.
The owner of this horse was glad to put all 3 kids on for a picture and A was thrilled, as she loves horses. We have already had to inform her many times that she is NEVER getting a horse. :) But she still asks nicely every once in a while. :)

It was a great field trip to Ag Days. The kids learned a lot and enjoyed seeing live animals up close and personal.
