Our Next day, my parents had to work, so we went to Plymouth for a field trip. We walked around the town for a very long time, toured the 2nd church of Plymouth (after the church separated) which was very fascinating.
We did a walking tour of the town, that included looking at the old mill, the houses that have been restored.. .and we even got a picture in front of the replica of the mayflower. We learned lots and got to see what it was really like for these people when they first came to the mainland... and why they even stopped in Plymouth. Pretty cool!
The kids enjoyed stopping for pictures... which is rare. They kept saying Take this one mom! Hence, all the pictures.
We also got to see something really cool It is called the Statue of Freedom. The statue is HUGE and very amazing. The Statue of Liberty was actually modeled after this statue. It has several smaller statues attached to it that are kind of like the statue's foundation. What was so amazing about this statue is that the "foundations" included, Truth, God's Word, Justice, hard work, and several other great virtues.
If you see the crown on the statue.. .that is actually an Ofsprey's nest. The statue is only about 1/2 a mile from the harbor.
In the picture with the kids in front of the harbor... there is a big "monument" behind them. That is the Plymouth rock monument. It is a huge building for a tiny rock (About the size of a large coffee table, but part of that is due to erosion and people taking souvenirs before the big fence around it.)

Linden House! I remember touring that with MY parents. Plymouth is a great day trip from where you were staying.
